Dr. Jean Frank is a Florida-licensed mental health counselor with two decades of clinical experience. She brings a broad background in mental health, having worked in private practice as well as in corrections, schools, hospitals, and community mental health centers.
Her approach recognizes that no single method fits every person, so she blends cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic techniques, and mindfulness practices to tailor treatment to each individual’s needs. Dr. Frank uses her training to help clients build stronger coping skills, find creative ways to resolve conflicts, make empowered changes, and navigate personal crises.
She has extensive experience addressing adjustment difficulties related to major life or career change, crisis and loss, trauma and abuse, substance and alcohol addiction, relationship problems, anxiety, depression, and behavioral or cognitive issues associated with brain dysfunction. Dr. Frank provides an empathic, non-judgmental online therapy space designed to support growth and healing, and she does not steer clients toward any particular religion, belief system, or political orientation - instead she focuses on each person’s counseling goals.
When someone is unsure about starting therapy or what to say in an initial session, Dr. Frank helps clarify options and supports the decision-making process about counseling. She is committed to ongoing professional development and has recently earned Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level I certification, completed training in Comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (C-DBT), and taken courses in telemental health and mindfulness. Her academic background includes a doctorate in biology from Universidade de Brasília, a Master of Science in psychology from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, and prior training as a psychologist at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro.
Dr. Jean Frank holds licensure as a mental health counselor in Florida (FL LMHC, license MH10305) and maintains a clinical focus on helping people move toward greater resilience and well-being.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can really help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or adjusting to life changes, online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions for most individuals.
A major benefit is flexibility - clients can choose the mode of communication that works best for them, including video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. That flexibility makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule and to maintain continuity of care.
Licensed professionals provide online services, and if a different therapeutic fit is needed, clients generally have the option to switch therapists. Online therapy can support many people in making progress toward their goals while accommodating the practical realities of daily life.
