Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
My name is Jim Zaremba (he, him, his), and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with over 16 years in practice. In those years, I have lived and practiced as a licensed clinician in Minneapolis MN, San Francisco CA and Gloucester MA. I have experience working with individuals, couples, families and children, with an age range of 5 to 104. I consider myself a people-oriented person and very much enjoy my work in counseling. My perspective is every single person can benefit from counseling in this ever-changing and oftentimes difficult and complicated world.
I have a broad assortment of techniques that I have found helpful, matching and adapting those that work best for each person and each situation. Therapies that I use and have been trained in include: Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Strengths Based Therapy, Stress Reduction and others.
No two individuals are exactly the same. However, I believe we all have the answers in ourselves. I feel the therapist’s role is to help guide the individual to find the answers to resolve the issue. I see my work as being on a team with the client. We work together to identify the individual’s needs, explore issues, and practice strategies to move forward. When we are done, the individual has not only resolved the issue(s), they also have gained the tools to resolve other issues on their own.
Therapy is a resource that can help people learn, heal, and grow. I have a friendly, professional, and easy-going style. In counseling sessions, I provide an environment where the client feels safe, supported, and gently challenged. Please let me know if I can be of assistance to you.

James Zaremba (he, him, his) is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who brings 18 years of clinical experience to his practice. He holds a Master of Arts degree and is licensed in Massachusetts as an independent clinical social worker (license number 115065).
He has practiced in Minneapolis, Minnesota; San Francisco, California; and Gloucester, Massachusetts, working with individuals, couples, families, and children. His clinical work has included clients across a wide age range, from children as young as five to elders aged over one hundred.
James takes a people-centered approach and believes counseling can benefit anyone facing the complexities of today’s world. He uses a variety of therapeutic methods and adapts those that best fit each person and situation. His training and experience include psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), strengths-based approaches, stress reduction techniques, and other modalities.
He views the therapist role as collaborative – working on a team with clients to identify needs, explore concerns, and practice strategies for moving forward. The goal is not only to resolve the immediate issues but also to leave clients with tools they can use independently for future challenges. In sessions he offers a friendly, professional, and easygoing presence, providing an environment where clients feel supported and gently challenged.
Many people wonder whether remote counseling can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life transitions, online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One major benefit is flexibility. Clients can connect in the way that suits them best – by video call, phone, live chat, or in-app messaging – which makes it easier to fit therapy into busy schedules and changing lives.
Licensed professionals offer these services, and if someone feels a different match would work better, they are free to switch therapists at any time. Online therapy can make evidence-based care more accessible while preserving the same therapeutic goals as face-to-face work.
