Heather Raymo is a Colorado-based clinical social worker with 29 years of experience helping people navigate emotional and life challenges.
Her career spans a variety of settings, including private practice, hospital care, hospice, home health, chronic pain programs, and adoption services. She has worked with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma and abuse, caregiver concerns, loneliness, and adjustment difficulties.
Heather brings a broad clinical skill set to her work and addresses many common and complex concerns such as stress, family conflicts, addictions, relationship and intimacy issues, eating and sleeping disorders, parenting challenges, anger management, self-esteem and career difficulties, bipolar disorder, depression, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and compassion fatigue. She also provides coaching alongside traditional therapy when appropriate.
She earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work from the University of Texas at Arlington and has additional education in biology and psychophysiology. Her approach is eclectic and integrative, combining person-centered work with cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, and rational emotive techniques to help clients set and reach practical goals.
People generally describe her as very intuitive, supportive, insightful, caring, and kind, while she also applies logical and objective thinking when assessing situations and planning treatment. She has lived in Colorado for more than 20 years and enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, camping, swimming, boating, and gardening, in addition to traveling, caring for animals, and reading widely.
She is glad that someone has taken the step to seek assistance and looks forward to learning about each person’s unique story and supporting them through whatever circumstances brought them to therapy.
