Beatrice “Faith” Berry prefers to be called Faith by family and friends. She practices with an informal, warm style and brings more than 15 years of clinical experience to her work in Tennessee.
Faith is a licensed clinical social worker in both Georgia and Tennessee. She views her role as part of the “human love and restoration business,” aiming in every interaction to add value and make people glad they connected. She treats being invited into someone’s life as an honor and works to ensure each person leaves a session with renewed hope and direction.
She has contributed to published works, including a 2013 piece in “Seeing is Achieving, Invisible Walls & How to Break Through to Achieve Success” and, as a contributor, editor, and researcher, to the high school textbook “Black History 365 An Inclusive Account of American History,” published in August 2020.
Faith helps clients uncover self-worth and move past obstacles that block fuller enjoyment of life. She believes people are born with creativity and capability, and she works with clients to remove the “dross” - the issues that get in the way of living well. Nature and animal behavior often serve as gentle metaphors in her approach, illustrating ways to cope without added burdens like guilt or low self-esteem.
Her counseling philosophy emphasizes releasing what she calls the “fun gene” - finding concrete, individualized ways to bring more joy and levity into life even when challenges persist. Faith favors laughter and lightness as tools that can accelerate progress and pairs that with tailored clinical tools and a fresh, open-minded perspective for every new client relationship.
Her background includes a wide range of professional experiences gathered during years of contract work that allowed flexibility while raising her son. That work included individual and couples counseling, medical social work, career development training, and over eight years assisting military service members, couples, and families. She has also owned businesses outside of social work, and draws on that experience to encourage clients to take calculated risks toward dormant goals.
Faith uses a solution-based approach while jointly setting goals, plans, and objectives with clients, recognizing that imposed solutions rarely work. She believes clients possess the resources to heal and improve their lives, and she looks forward to working with people who want to focus on bringing more peace, joy, and contentment into their lives.
Many people ask whether virtual counseling can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life transitions, online therapy has been shown to be an effective option comparable to traditional in-person care.
One major benefit is flexibility. Clients can connect with a therapist in the format that works best for them - video sessions, phone calls, live chat, or in-app messaging - which makes it easier to fit counseling into busy schedules.
Sessions are provided by licensed professionals, and if a client feels another therapist would be a better match, switching is an available option. Online therapy offers practical, accessible support for many everyday mental health needs while preserving the same core elements of therapeutic work.
