Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Its a big step to seek support from a counsellor; perhaps you don’t know what to expect, or a previous counselling relationship hasn’t worked out, or perhaps you are returning to counselling after a long time. Whatever your situation, its helpful to know something about the person you are seeking support from. So here goes….
I qualified as a counsellor in the UK in 2012 and now have 11 years of experience in the field, working with a variety of clients. Prior to this I worked in social care for 22 years, supporting people with disabilities and the friends and family members who cared for them. As a result of my professional and personal experience, I have learnt a great deal about the impact that illness and disability can have on individuals and families and am keen to offer support. I have extensive experience of working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression and/or stress; people who feel suicidal or manage their feelings through self harm, or people who feel so low that they shut off from the world.
I am trained in person centred counselling and also have a qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. When we first meet I will offer you plenty of time to tell me about your situation and what you hope to achieve through counselling and then talk through how I might help.
As a person centred counsellor, I believe passionately that we all have the resources within us to bring about positive personal change. I also know how helpful if can be to have a counsellor along on the journey.
I hope I can come along on your journey.

Elizabeth (Liz) Cook recognises that deciding to see a counsellor can feel daunting, whether someone is unsure what to expect, returning after a gap, or has had an earlier counselling relationship that did not work out. She aims to give a clear sense of who she is and how she works so people can make an informed choice.
She qualified as a counsellor in the United Kingdom in 2012 and has 12 years of experience in the field. Before qualifying she spent 22 years working in social care, supporting people with disabilities and the family members and friends who cared for them. That background informs her understanding of how illness and disability affect individuals and families and contributes to a strong commitment to offering support in those areas.
Elizabeth has extensive experience working with people facing anxiety, depression and stress, including those who feel suicidal, use self-harm to cope, or become so low that they withdraw from the world. She is trained in person-centred counselling and also holds a qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and she draws on those approaches to match the needs of each person she sees.
At the first meeting she offers plenty of time to hear about a person’s situation and what they hope to achieve through counselling, then discusses how she might be able to help. As a person-centred counsellor she believes people have resources within themselves for positive change, while also recognising how valuable it can be to have a counsellor alongside on that journey. She hopes to be able to support people as they work toward their goals.
Many people ask whether online therapy can truly help. For a range of common concerns – including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and navigating life changes – online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person work.
One of the main benefits is the flexibility it offers. People can choose the mode of contact that fits their life and comfort level – video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging – which can make it easier to keep therapy consistent alongside other commitments.
Therapy online is delivered by licensed professionals and therapists, and it is possible to change therapists if someone feels a different fit would be better. For many, that combination of accessibility and professional support makes online therapy a practical and effective option.
