About

Elizabeth Janca discovered a passion for counseling early in life after benefiting from play therapy and other therapeutic experiences. Those formative moments shaped her desire to create a similarly safe and supportive space for others.

Born and raised south of Houston, Texas, she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Texas A&M University and a master’s degree in Counseling and Development from Texas Woman’s University north of Dallas. Across nine years in practice she has delivered direct therapeutic support in a variety of roles, including applied behavior analysis for children ages 2 to 12, play therapy for children ages 4 to 10, activity-based therapy with adolescents, individual talk therapy for teens and adults, and group therapy for both adolescents and adults.

In addition to her clinical work, she spent three years working in middle school education as an academic counselor and administrator. She holds professional counseling licenses to practice in both Texas and California.

She joined BetterHelp and Global Teletherapy to continue providing client-centered guidance and a welcoming space for children (5-12), teens (13-18), and young adults (19-35) as they navigate challenges at school and in life. Her primary orientation is person/client-centered counseling - a Rogerian approach that allows the client to lead sessions within a nonjudgmental environment that encourages reflection. She also integrates cognitive behavioral therapy to help clients identify and modify unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, improve emotional regulation, and develop practical coping strategies. She looks forward to working with clients as they pursue their goals.

Is Online Therapy the Right Choice for Your Mental Health Journey?

Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly help. For a range of common concerns - including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and navigating life changes - online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.

One of the main benefits is flexibility - clients can connect in the way that feels most comfortable, whether by video call, phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging. That range of options makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule.

All participating providers are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to switch therapists at any time if they want a different fit. Online therapy can be a practical, accessible way to pursue support for everyday mental health needs.
