Elaijia Eaton greets each person who reaches out with respect for their individuality and a practical, non-traditional style of therapy. She encourages courage in taking the first step and approaches change as a flexible, non-linear process, welcoming clients wherever they are in their journey. Elaijia combines directness and accountability with warmth, challenging and supporting clients while tailoring the level of intervention to what feels appropriate for them.
She is licensed to practice as a professional counselor in Texas and also holds a clinical counseling license in New Mexico. With five years of experience in the human services field, Elaijia has supported teens, adults, couples, and families across multiple systems. Prior to full licensure she worked as a Family-Based Safety Service Specialist III, providing day-to-day support to children and families facing high-stress, high-stakes situations - experience that continues to inform her therapeutic work.
Elaijia welcomes clients ages 16 and older for virtual counseling in Texas, South Carolina, and Vermont, with the possibility of additional states being discussed as availability changes. She works well with people who often feel unseen in systems or relationships - including young adults, creatives, self-employed and otherwise unconventional thinkers - and those navigating anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, intimacy and relationship concerns, addiction or pornography-related issues, suicidal thoughts that are not an acute crisis, personality challenges, family conflict, trauma, parenting stress, career difficulties, bipolar disorder, compassion fatigue, ADHD, and related concerns.
Therapy with Elaijia centers on collaboration, honesty, and authenticity. She describes the therapeutic relationship as a shared effort in which the client leads and she provides direction, reflection, and practical tools to help realign with personal goals and values. She maintains clear boundaries around session time and communication, typically using video calls as the primary medium and reserving brief text messaging for scheduling, reminders, or technical issues. All sessions are HIPAA-compliant and scheduled through the BetterHelp platform and its affiliated services.
Her clinical approach draws from client-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), reality therapy, and she is available for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) work with consultation. Elaijia aims to create an open, multicultural, judgment-free space where clients can bring their truth and work toward meaningful change.
