Dr. Ednita M. Wright recognizes the courage involved in taking a first step toward greater balance and well-being. She understands that people sometimes discover their usual ways of coping no longer work, and that it can feel as if a few essential puzzle pieces are missing - she enjoys helping others find those pieces so they can better understand what will help them feel well again.
Dr. Ednita M. Wright, who also uses the name Nina, is a licensed clinical social worker in New York and is credentialed to provide counseling for alcohol and substance use concerns. She has provided counseling for more than thirty-five years to individuals dealing with substance use, feelings of being lost, grief, life transitions such as the move from adolescence to adulthood, and questions of spirituality and identity.
She continues to teach as a professor after twenty-five years at a community college, working in the Alcohol/Substance Abuse Counseling, Human Services, and Teacher Education department. In addition to direct counseling and classroom work, she consults with academic institutions, community agencies, and affiliation groups on issues of inclusion, holding the view that genuine inclusion demands intention and a willingness to move beyond mere tolerance.
If Dr. Wright appears to be a good fit, she looks forward to meeting with prospective clients; if not, she hopes they find the support they need to regain equilibrium. She sends wishes for a day full of peace and love.
