Dr. Denauvo Robinson brings 48 years of clinical experience across residential programs, community agencies, university counseling centers and private practice. He has worked with adolescents and adults, offering personal, psychoeducational, and psychosocial counseling services, and has provided therapy for couples and families.
Dr. Robinson has particular experience supporting adults in crisis and those who have been involved with the court system or the Division of Social Services. His therapeutic approach draws on cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, developmental and systemic theories, and he incorporates Rogerian, reality therapy, and Gestalt techniques as appropriate to each person’s needs.
He views the core of counseling as helping people identify and use their own internal resources to build the skills necessary to address presenting concerns and underlying issues. Dr. Robinson also has substantial supervisory experience: he completed three years of counselor supervision in a university counseling center and ten years of administrative counselor supervision in a university setting, and he currently supervises aspiring counselors while continuing supervision training through conferences and online classes.
Dr. Robinson maintains a private practice that has been active for more than fifteen years. He is a licensed clinical mental health counselor in North Carolina, and he welcomes the opportunity to work with new clients.
Dr. Denauvo Robinson looks forward to working with you. Let’s get started.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions for most individuals.
One major benefit is flexibility. People can connect with a therapist in the format that suits them best - video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging - which often makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule.
Therapists offering online care are licensed professionals, and clients may choose to switch providers if they prefer a different fit. This format makes professional help more accessible while maintaining the same focus on clinical care and therapeutic goals.
