Dana Teeter

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

Hello and welcome! My name is Dana Teeter and I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in the state of Indiana. I take a holistic approach to health and wellness, incorporating a variety of mind management techniques, as well as talk therapy, CBT, yoga, breath work, and other mind- body exercises to address mindset, negative thinking, intrusive thoughts, and coping with negative emotions. I enjoy working with clients of all ages and from a variety of backgrounds. I have over 10 years experience working with children and teens in the school environment as a counselor/ social worker. I have extensive experience providing services for students struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, and childhood trauma, as well as children and adolescents struggling with areas of identity, self-esteem and self-worth, interpersonal skills and emotional regulation. In addition, I have spent the last 8 years working at home with my two sons, both of who have been diagnosed with ADHD. This has given me the unique perspective of working with students with ADHD as both a social worker, and as a parent. I also have experience writing IEPs, 504 plans, behavior intervention plans, and goals for students with ADHD and have spent time working with school professionals and families to implement these plans successfully.

While most of my experience in the clinical field has been with children and adolescents, I have worked with families and adults as well. I also have a personal interest in mental health and wellness, and enjoy working with clients from various backgrounds to address what is weighing them down, assess their mental health and overall wellness needs, and develop a plan to improve their own ability to self-regulate emotions and better manage their mental health and wellness needs. I have experience using CBT, mindfulness, yoga, progressive muscle relaxation, breathing techniques, and a variety of other holistic approaches to managing negative thoughts and emotions. I am also Yogafit certified and recently earned my black belt in Taekwondo, as I have found these practices to be crucial to managing my own mental health and wellness. As a certified Revelation Wellness® instructor, I understand the importance of taking care of the mind, body and spirit when addressing health and wellness, and I want to educate others about the neuroplasticity of our brains and our bodies ability to heal themselves when giving a supportive, healing environment. I enjoy studying the mind, body, spirit connection and using education as a tool to empower my clients. I love meeting new people and learning from others; I believe we all have a story to share and have found my own healing as I have shared my story with others. I hope to create a safe environment for clients to share their own stories and struggles, as well as to learn more about their own mental health and set goals for future growth. I enjoy educating and empowering my clients to become an expert on their own mental health and look forward to collaborating with clients to help them find freedom to live their best lives.

About

Dana Teeter is a licensed clinical social worker practicing in Indiana, holding the state LCSW license IN LCSW 34007041A and bringing ten years of clinical experience to her work. She uses a holistic approach to mental health that blends traditional talk therapy and cognitive behavioral techniques with mind-body practices such as yoga, breath work, progressive muscle relaxation, and other exercises designed to address negative thinking, intrusive thoughts, and emotional regulation.

Her clinical background includes more than a decade working with children and adolescents in school settings as a counselor and social worker. During that time she supported students facing anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, and childhood trauma, and she worked with young people navigating identity, self-esteem, interpersonal skills, and emotional regulation. She also has experience developing IEPs, 504 plans, behavior intervention plans, and individualized goals, and collaborating with school staff and families to implement those plans effectively.

In addition to her school-based work, Dana has spent the last eight years parenting two sons who have been diagnosed with ADHD, which gives her a dual perspective as both a social worker and a parent of children with ADHD. She has worked with families and adults as well, helping assess wellness needs and create plans to improve self-regulation and overall mental health.

Dana complements her therapeutic practice with certifications and personal training that inform her methods. She is Yogafit certified, a certified Revelation Wellness instructor, and a recently earned black belt in Taekwondo. These practices influence her belief in the mind-body-spirit connection and in the brain’s capacity for change through supportive, healing environments.

She values education as a tool for empowerment and aims to create a safe space where people can explore their stories, learn about their mental health, and set goals for growth. Dana enjoys meeting new people and collaborating with clients to help them develop skills and strategies that support healthier, more regulated lives.

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

For many common concerns – including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and life transitions – online therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person sessions. Research and clinical practice support its usefulness for these types of issues, making it a viable option for people seeking support.

One key benefit is flexibility. Individuals can choose the communication method that suits them best – video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging – which makes it easier to fit therapy into busy schedules and everyday life.

All therapists involved are licensed professionals, and people who try online therapy have the option to switch providers if they feel a different fit would be more helpful. This approach offers a combination of accessibility, professional care, and adaptability for those considering therapy.
