Colette Langridge is an experienced counsellor who qualified in 2012 and has built a practice over 12 years in the United Kingdom. She works with people facing a wide range of difficulties and offers a calm, respectful space where concerns can be explored without judgement.
Her specialist focus is trauma-informed therapy, and she has more than six years of specific experience supporting people affected by sexualised trauma and abuse. In that role she provided one-to-one support for people who have experienced relational trauma, sexual violence, childhood abuse and other related mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, PTSD and Complex PTSD.
Colette adopts an integrative approach, tailoring the work to each person’s needs. She may draw on psychodynamic ideas to explore childhood and attachment issues, acknowledge somatic symptoms where memory may be held in the body by using sensorimotor resourcing techniques, and incorporate mindfulness practices as appropriate.
Deciding to begin counselling is a significant step, and Colette aims to make the experience welcoming and constructive. Therapy with her is an opportunity to reflect on the past and to develop new ways of thinking that support wellbeing, confidence and self-esteem.
Many people wonder whether remote sessions can really help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
A major benefit of working online is flexibility. Clients can connect in the way that suits them best - video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging - which makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life.
All therapists involved are licensed professionals, and if someone feels they need a different fit they are free to switch to another therapist at any time.
