Christopher Johnson is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a state-approved supervisor practicing in Louisiana. He holds a Louisiana Professional Counselor license (LPC 5129) and is approved to supervise other clinicians, and he currently serves as a Clinical Director and Supervisor at Cognitive Development Centers of Seaside Healthcare systems.
Over 11 years he has worked across a variety of behavioral health roles, moving from mental health specialist and mental health professional to Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor. That career has included supervisory work with a Multi-Systemic Therapy program, training in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and responsibility for court-appointed youth and their families.
His clinical experience covers development and implementation of Individual Service Recovery Plans (ISRPs), Community Psychiatric Support and Treatment (CPST), and a range of psychotherapy interventions. Christopher has provided case management, facilitated groups, supported clients and families in the community, and collaborated with clinical teams to create effective treatment and behavior plans.
In addition to clinical roles, he has coordinated multiple nonprofit programs and founded Beat The Streets, a nonprofit offering music and cultural arts opportunities for members of low-income communities as a foundation for life skills. Many members served by that program have either been diagnosed with a mental illness or have a family member who struggles with mental illness.
Christopher works with children, adolescents, and adults beginning at age four and uses an eclectic approach to therapy. He blends Cognitive Behavioral techniques with Reality Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), solution-focused methods, reality-based strategies, and psychoeducation to address concerns such as stress, anxiety, parenting issues, anger management, self-esteem, and depression. He is a professional member of the Louisiana Counseling Association, holds several certifications, and maintains professional development through conferences, current research, and peer supervision.
