She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, and a Master of Social Work from the dual program between the University of St. Thomas and St. Catherine University.
In her role as a school social worker, Christa provides direct individual and group therapeutic support to youth, and offers crisis intervention and prevention along with family education, support, and advocacy. As a licensed clinical social worker, Christa practices from a strengths-based, healing-centered engagement and empowerment approach that honors culture, spirituality, civic action, and collective healing. She partners with clients to identify needs, map out challenges and supports, and develop achievable goals and practical plans to reach them.
Her clinical work is grounded in core social work values that recognize the inherent dignity and worth of each person while promoting basic human rights and centering social justice and social change with and on behalf of clients. Christa has experience assisting people with stress and anxiety, relationship concerns, depression, trauma and abuse, grief and loss, motivation, self esteem, and confidence.
Christa strives to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. She acknowledges the courage it takes to pursue a more fulfilling and happier life and is available to support and empower clients through that process.
For many common concerns - including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and navigating life changes - online therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person sessions. Research and practice have shown that for these types of issues, working with a therapist remotely often delivers comparable benefits.
One major advantage of remote counseling is flexibility. Individuals can connect with their therapist in the format that fits their life best - video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging - making it easier to attend sessions without disrupting routines.
Each therapist is a licensed professional, and there is the option to change therapists if someone feels a different fit would be helpful. Online therapy can make consistent, professional support more accessible while allowing people to choose the communication method that feels most comfortable to them.
