Cassey Simmons is a Georgia-based licensed clinical social worker who brings a passionate, big-picture approach to therapy. Her dreams and aspirations are expansive - people who know her say “She would like to save the world,” and she embraces that dedication to helping others.
She has over seven years of experience using a variety of therapeutic methods, including client-centered work, solution-focused strategies, motivational interviewing, and a strengths-based approach that draws heavily from cognitive behavioral theory. Much of her practice has involved supporting adolescents through older adults in vulnerable and at-risk populations across human service agencies, hospitals, and community outreach programs, with a focus on trauma and crisis intervention as well as the effects of poverty, discrimination, racism, sexism, and other forms of injustice.
Cassey is culturally competent and maintains an open-minded stance in all aspects of her work. She is known for clear communication and strong critical thinking when helping clients navigate difficult life situations, and she advocates for self-love and emotional well-being. Creating a safe and comfortable space for every client is central to her practice.
She is licensed to practice clinical social work in Georgia and is qualified to provide clinical social work services. If someone feels in urgent need of help or is in crisis at any time during their work together, she asks that they call 1-800-273-TALK, 1-800-SUICIDE, the Georgia Crisis and Access Line (GCAL) at 1-800-715-4225 which is available 24 hours a day, or 911.
Cassey looks forward to working with new clients and supporting them through life’s challenges.
