Caroline Laing is a qualified person-centred counsellor based in the United Kingdom. She has three years of experience offering one-to-one therapy and group work, and she draws on cognitive behavioural techniques to help people make sense of difficult emotions and move forward with greater confidence.
She works with people who feel anxious, depressed, stuck, or lost, and frequently supports those facing life changes, loss, relationship difficulties, stress, or burnout. Her practice covers a wide range of concerns including stress, anxiety, relationship issues, grief, self-esteem, depression, family matters, trauma and abuse, parenting challenges, anger, career questions, coping with life changes, and compassion fatigue.
Caroline’s work is rooted in a person-centred approach that is trauma-informed and relational, integrating CBT methods to create a supportive space where clients can feel understood and empowered to make choices that reflect their values. She also brings extensive experience in group work facilitation and clinical supervision, which informs her collaborative style.
Her qualifications include a Level 5 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. She has completed training with Place2Be for working with children and young people aged 11-16 and with Mind for working with adults. She has over 10 years' experience as a group work facilitator of change programmes and over 10 years' experience as a clinical supervisor to group work facilitators. Her CPD (continuing professional development) includes safeguarding children and adults; an introduction to wild therapy; working with relational trauma; working with suicide and self-harm; working with terminal ambivalence; and taking therapy outdoors. She is a Registered Member of the BACP and is fully insured.
Caroline listens, cares and aims to help people reconnect with a life that feels aligned with their values and goals. If this description fits where someone is at and how they are feeling, she is happy to explore the next steps with them.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One major benefit is flexibility - people can connect with a therapist in the way that suits them best, whether by video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life and access support from wherever you are.
Sessions are delivered by licensed professionals, and if someone decides they would prefer a different therapeutic fit they can switch therapists at any time. For many, online therapy offers a practical and effective route to support with everyday mental health challenges.
