Dr. Bosco Lorio

Dr. Bosco Lorio is a licensed counselor holding LPC licensure in Georgia and LMHC licensure in Florida, and he is pursuing licensure as a psychologist. He has worked in mental health since 2006 in both hospital and outpatient clinic settings, accumulating two decades of experience. Much of his work has focused with the veteran population and the LGBTQ+ community, addressing concerns such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and matters related to sexual identity and orientation.

His clinical interests include trauma-focused treatment and LGBTQ+ studies alongside a broad range of concerns like stress, addictions, relationship difficulties, grief, and mood disorders. He approaches care with respect, compassion, and dignity, emphasizing feedback and meeting individuals where they are. He aims to reduce stigma and the use of labels that can get in the way of progress.

Dr. Lorio primarily uses a behavioral-cognitive and solution-focused framework while adapting other methods as needed, including motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and acceptance and commitment therapy. He tailors dialogue and treatment plans to each person. He works part-time on this platform while maintaining full-time hospital employment and offers evening hours during the week with additional weekend availability.
