Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am an accredited and fully qualified counsellor who has been working in the counselling field for over 11 years. Initially I managed an independent counselling practice and set-up a low-cost counselling service to help counselling become available to anyone regardless of cost. This led to qualifying as a counsellor 8 years ago and the launch of my own private practice in Somerset, UK.
My counselling approach is best described as integrative – in other words, a combination of complementary approaches that can be adapted to best suit the needs of my clients. In many ways, this leads to a new and unique therapy for each client. I draw on the Person-Centred, Gestalt and TA approaches among others while incorporating aspects of modern philosophy such as existentialism.
Anyway, what does this jargon really mean when it comes to a therapy session? It means, that I will put you and your experience first with compassion, empathy and respect. I believe you are the expert upon yourself and also the driving force that can determine your life. That said, you will not be alone to do so. I will support you and will also try to show you new ways of exploring things. This can be exciting and empowering, and sometimes it is also hard and challenging. Nevertheless, if we both bravely put the work in, something amazing can happen: from the smallest change in your life to a complete transformation. The choice is up to you.

Benjamin Raffles is an accredited and fully qualified counsellor who has worked in the counselling field for over 11 years. He began his career managing an independent counselling practice and later set up a low-cost counselling service to make counselling more accessible regardless of cost.
He qualified as a counsellor 8 years ago and subsequently launched a private practice in Somerset, UK. His therapeutic orientation is integrative – a blend of complementary approaches adapted to suit each person’s individual needs.
Benjamin draws on Person-Centred, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis approaches while also incorporating elements of modern philosophy such as existentialism. In practice this means he places the client’s experience at the centre of the work and meets people with compassion, empathy and respect.
He views clients as the experts on their own lives and as the driving force in their change. At the same time he offers support, new ways of exploring issues, and a collaborative therapeutic process that can be both empowering and challenging. With commitment from both client and therapist, he aims to help produce meaningful changes – from small adjustments to deeper transformations – with the choice always remaining with the client.
Many people wonder whether remote counselling can genuinely help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One major benefit is flexibility – individuals can connect in the way that suits them best, whether by video call, phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging. This range of options often makes it easier to fit therapeutic support into a busy life.
Each therapist offering online work is a licensed professional, and if someone feels a different fit would be better they may switch to another therapist at any time. Online therapy can therefore provide accessible, adaptable support delivered by qualified practitioners.
