Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
It’s important to talk to someone who gets what you’re going through, whether it’s something related to mental health, identity, life transitions, or important decisions. As your therapist, I’m here to be radically honest, unbearably kind, and help you – yes, you – make the changes you’ve always wanted.
As someone with a lot of identities – queer, transgender, Taiwanese-American, autistic, and more – my therapeutic stance combines my professional and personal experiences with what I learn from you so we may tailor the best approach. This can be more somatic-leaning, philosophically-inclined, skills-based, or any combination thereof. And since there is no way around the fact that we live in a society, therapy must also confront our responsibility to ourselves, our community, and the external factors that narrow our choices in the first place. Trained and practiced primarily in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), a cousin of CBT, as well as given my identities, I offer a unique perspective on both the process of therapy and the environmental pressures we face.
And finally, when we have come as far as we can together, let us part ways amicably and healthily – my selfish quest as a therapist is to render myself obsolete, to contribute to a world that one day needs no borders, inequity, and even therapists. To those of you who have been neglected by our white-dominated institutions, who have sought help from those that don’t (and maybe cannot ever) “get it”, and who have been told you have or are a problem – let’s talk!

Arthur Sun offers therapy that balances direct honesty with gentle support, helping clients make meaningful changes in their lives. With five years of clinical experience and licensure as a clinical social worker in California (CA LCSW 129742), Arthur brings both professional training and personal insight to the work.
They draw on lived experience as a queer, transgender, Taiwanese-American, and autistic person to inform a collaborative, individualized approach. Treatment can be somatic-leaning, philosophically inclined, skills-based, or a blend of these methods depending on each person’s needs.
Arthur’s clinical background is primarily in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), which is closely related to cognitive behavioral approaches, and this training shapes how they address both internal struggles and the external forces that limit choice. Therapy also attends to community responsibilities and the social realities that affect wellbeing.
When therapy has accomplished its goals, Arthur aims for a healthy conclusion to treatment so clients can move forward independently. They are committed to supporting people who have been overlooked by institutions that do not reflect their experiences, and to creating space for those who have been told they are the problem to instead be seen and understood.
Many people wonder whether virtual therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and life transitions, online therapy has been found to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person care.
An important advantage is flexibility – clients can choose the format that fits their life best, including video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. That flexibility makes it easier to maintain consistency in treatment.
All participating therapists are licensed professionals, and clients are free to switch providers if they seek a different therapeutic fit. Online therapy can therefore offer both effective support for common mental health challenges and practical ways to access care on a schedule that works.
