Her clinical experience includes work with addiction, anxiety, trauma and abuse, stress, relationship and identity concerns, career and lifestyle goals, grief, depression, and a range of other challenges. She is committed to a counseling style that respects each person’s values and intentionally integrates those values into the therapeutic process.
Dr. McCaughan lives and teaches in the Pacific Northwest (Washington State) and also works with clients in Illinois and Idaho. She is licensed to practice as a clinical professional counselor in both Illinois and Idaho. She welcomes the opportunity to work with prospective clients and support them in reaching their goals.
Many people wonder whether working with a therapist online can truly help. For a wide range of common concerns - including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and major life transitions - online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person care.
One of the primary benefits is flexibility. Clients can connect in the format that best fits their schedule and comfort level, choosing video sessions, phone appointments, live chat, or in-app messaging. This adaptability can make it much easier to maintain consistent therapeutic work amid busy lives.
All therapists involved are licensed professionals, and clients may change therapists at any time if they are seeking a different fit. Online therapy can be a practical option for many people looking to address common mental health and life concerns while accommodating their daily responsibilities.
