Dr. Amanda Veldorale-Griffin is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Oregon and authorized to practice in both Oregon and Florida. She holds a PhD in Family Relations from The Florida State University, a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Kentucky, and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The University of South Florida. With 17 years of experience, she brings extensive training and long-term practice to her work with individuals and families.
She understands that beginning therapy can feel intimidating and aims to make the experience a positive one. Dr. Veldorale-Griffin approaches therapy as a collaborative process – she combines her therapeutic knowledge with each person’s own understanding of their life, family, and challenges to develop practical, workable solutions. Her style emphasizes building on existing strengths to help people and families function as well as possible.
Dr. Veldorale-Griffin is LGBT-affirmative and has a strong commitment to supporting sexual and gender minority clients. She specializes in working with parents, children, and adolescents, and also frequently supports survivors of trauma. Her areas of focus include relationship issues, family conflicts, parenting concerns, stress and anxiety, trauma and abuse, grief, intimacy-related concerns, eating disorders, anger management, self-esteem, career difficulties, bipolar disorder, and depression.
She is also a certified Relationship Enhancement instructor, which informs her work helping couples and families improve communication and connection. Overall, Dr. Veldorale-Griffin combines academic training, clinical experience, and a strengths-based, collaborative approach to support clients through a wide range of life and relational challenges.
