Our team provided individual, group, and family therapy within Nashville Metro Schools Special Education program for Emotionally Disturbed children and adolescents, plus we aided educators and families with development of behavior intervention plans and classroom intervention plans/support. During this time, I also worked in the Vanderbilt Community Health Center providing outpatient therapy to adolescents and adults. Since relocating my experience has focused on working with adults and adolescents, in both residential treatment, and the outpatient setting. For the past 8 years I have been self-employed as a sole proprietor of my own practice, located in a suite that includes a Psychiatrist, two psychiatric nurse practitioners, and another therapist. Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

Many people wonder whether virtual counseling can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy is often as effective as traditional in-person sessions.

One of the main benefits is flexibility – clients can choose the format that fits their life best, including video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. That variety makes it easier to maintain continuity of care and to access support when schedules or circumstances make office visits difficult.

Licensed professionals provide online therapy, and it is possible to change providers if a different therapeutic fit is desired. For many people, the combination of evidence-based approaches and flexible access makes online therapy a practical option for addressing everyday mental health concerns.
