Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hello and welcome. I understand that taking the first step to reach out for counselling can take courage and might be daunting. I offer a comfortable space for you to share your experience and whatever is troubling you.
My approach is gentle offering compassion and respect in a confidential space. Emotions can be uncomfortable, overwhelming and painful, the space I offer is a non judgement place, life is challenging and we are all unique in our experiences.
Counselling is a valuable space for individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings and behaviours to create transformation and the changes you would like to make. I will respect your space and go at your own pace, you will be leading the sessions, I will not be telling you what to do whilst your sharing your experiences.
As well as individual counselling sessions, I offer couples counselling, working with couples to repair trust, improve communication and strengthen their emotional intimacy with each other. I will work with you both to identify what is going on to improve your understanding of yourselves and others through self awareness and strengthening your relationship through communication.
I work with a range of presenting issues including, relationship issues, domestic abuse, anxiety, depression, low self esteem, addiction, trauma, PTSD, bereavement, low self confidence, anger, family issues, loneliness, burnout.

Amanda Barnes welcomes people who find the first step toward counselling difficult or daunting and creates a calm, comfortable space for them to talk about what is troubling them.
Her approach is gentle and grounded in compassion and respect. She recognises that emotions can feel uncomfortable, overwhelming or painful and offers a non-judgement environment where each person’s experience is valued.
She regards counselling as a place for individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings and behaviours to bring about transformation and the changes they want to make. She respects personal boundaries and works at each person’s pace; clients lead the sessions and she does not tell them what to do while they share their experiences.
In addition to individual work, she provides couples counselling, helping partners repair trust, improve communication and strengthen emotional intimacy. She collaborates with both people to increase self-awareness and mutual understanding and to support better communication within the relationship.
Amanda works with a wide range of presenting issues including relationship difficulties, family problems, intimacy-related issues, parenting challenges, grief and bereavement, stress, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and low self-confidence, addiction, trauma and PTSD, anger, career concerns, loneliness and burnout, as well as domestic abuse.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One of the main advantages is flexibility – clients can choose the way they connect that feels most comfortable, whether that is a video call, a phone session, live chat or in-app messaging. This range of options can make it easier to fit therapy into everyday life.
Therapists offering online sessions are licensed professionals, and clients are free to switch therapists at any time if they would prefer a different fit.
