Amanda Reid, who also goes by Mandy, is a licensed professional counselor serving clients in Alabama and South Carolina with eight years of clinical experience. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a master’s degree in Licensed Professional Counseling from Liberty University.
Amanda works as an outpatient provider in both states and brings certifications in Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Experiential Therapy to her practice. Her background includes roles as a substance abuse counselor and as a therapist in a group home and a mental health hospital.
She has supported people facing depression, anxiety, anger concerns, parenting challenges, PTSD and other trauma, addiction, and ADHD. Amanda aims to meet clients where they are, helping them reframe experiences and prioritize self-care while developing practical coping skills and grounding techniques.
In sessions she focuses on building positive cognitive-behavioral habits and helping clients create a structured foundation for a more hopeful future. Compassion and empathy guide her work, and she approaches therapy as a facilitator and supporter who honors the courage it takes to do this work and commits to walking alongside clients through the process.
Many people wonder whether virtual counseling can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life transitions, online therapy has been demonstrated to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person treatment.
One major benefit is convenience - clients can connect in the format that fits their lifestyle, choosing video sessions, phone calls, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to maintain consistency and integrate therapy into a busy schedule.
Sessions are provided by licensed professionals, and if a different therapeutic fit is desired, clients have the option to switch therapists. For many people facing everyday mental health challenges, online therapy offers an accessible and effective path to support and growth.
