Alyssa Vida is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in California; her professional license is 96704. She welcomes clients who are ready to begin personal therapy and views counseling as both a place for solving problems and a catalyst for personal growth and improved quality of life.
She believes most difficulties have solutions and that a fresh perspective can make a strong difference. Alyssa works collaboratively and treats each client as the expert on their own life, allowing clients to set the agenda for each session while offering guidance and structure as needed.
In therapy she explores current challenges and obstacles to clients’ goals, using the increased insight to develop attainable strategies and practical solutions. Her work most often follows a client-centered orientation, with frequent use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused techniques, and Family Systems concepts. She is also trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for trauma-specific interventions.
Alyssa helps clients set meaningful goals, identify unhelpful thoughts and behavior patterns, and recognize personal strengths. She teaches coping skills to manage stressors and supports clients in building confidence and the ability to make lasting changes.
Trained to work with individuals, couples, family units, and children, Alyssa has seven years of experience in a variety of settings including community mental health, private practice, school-based programs, and, most recently, work with the military. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Azusa Pacific University and a special certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
She is passionate about equipping clients with tools for self-advocacy, problem solving, increased self-awareness, and resilience, and she looks forward to supporting those ready to make change.
For many common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions. It can be a practical and impactful option for addressing everyday mental health needs.
One major benefit is the flexibility to connect in the way that suits each person best. Therapists can meet with clients via video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging, making it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule or to access care from different locations.
Sessions are provided by licensed professionals, and clients are free to change therapists if they feel a different fit would be more helpful. For many people, the combination of professional clinical support and adaptable access makes online therapy a convenient way to pursue meaningful progress.
