Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hi! Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. My name is Alice Congdon and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in Minnesota. I have been in the helping profession since 2008 and have 8 years experience as a therapist. I have worked in a variety of settings: client’s homes, schools, places of employment and in office. I have experience as a Personal Care Assistant, Job Coach, Direct Service Professional, Mental Health Practitioner, In-patient Therapist, and Outpatient Therapist. I have interned in a chemical dependency rehabilitation facility (that focused on minority women) as well as interned in multiple K-12 schools. My experiences have helped shape the therapy I do today. I have the most experience working with Depression, Anxiety, Addictions, Relationship Conflicts, and Life Transitions. I also have experience with Bipolar Disorders, PTSD, ADHD, OCD, Hoarding, Grief & Loss, and Spiritual Issues.
I consider myself a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist as well as Solution-Focused Brief Therapist. I also utilize Existential, Multicultural, Motivational Interviewing, Family and other therapies as needed. I believe in looking at all the individual pieces that make up the entire person and assessing how each aspect of a person’s life contributes to their overall functionality or dysfunction. In session, we work to develop insight and connect that to daily, weekly, and long-term goals. I look to create a sense of hope within a person that will motivate them to achieve their goals. I believe ultimately that YOU are the expert on your life! You know yourself better than anyone and have the final say in goals and interventions that we practice. Having said that, my role will be to provide safety, confidentiality, empathy, and a non-judgmental atmosphere.
I think therapy is like driving a car: we occasionally glance back to see where we have been, while mainly looking forward to where we are going and focusing on the present moment. I am excited to start our journey together!
Please be advised I can only Video & Phone sessions during evening sessions. I am available for Messaging and Live Chat during the morning/ afternoon session ( and any other available sessions). Thank you!

She has been working in the helping profession since 2008 and has eight years of experience specifically as a therapist. Her clinical background includes work in clients’ homes, schools, places of employment, and office settings.
Throughout her career Alice has held roles as a Personal Care Assistant, Job Coach, Direct Service Professional, Mental Health Practitioner, in-patient therapist, and outpatient therapist. She completed internships at a chemical dependency rehabilitation facility that focused on minority women and in multiple K-12 schools. Those experiences have informed the practical, person-centered approach she uses in sessions.
Alice works with a wide range of concerns, with particular experience in depression, anxiety, addictions, relationship conflicts, and life transitions. She also has experience with bipolar disorder, PTSD, ADHD, OCD, hoarding, grief and loss, spiritual concerns, LGBT issues, family conflicts, trauma and abuse, intimacy-related concerns, parenting issues, anger management, self-esteem difficulties, career challenges, coaching, and compassion fatigue.
Her therapeutic approach is rooted in cognitive behavioral therapy and solution-focused brief therapy, while also drawing on existential, multicultural, motivational interviewing, family, and other modalities as needed. She examines the various parts of a person’s life to understand how they affect overall functioning, helps clients build insight, and connects that understanding to short- and long-term goals. Alice seeks to foster hope and motivation while emphasizing that clients are the experts on their own lives; her role is to provide safety, empathy, confidentiality, and a non-judgmental atmosphere.
She likens therapy to driving a car – occasionally glancing back to see where one has been, while primarily looking ahead and attending to the present moment. Alice looks forward to beginning that journey with new clients.
Alice holds a Minnesota license as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor – license number 957. Please note that she offers video and phone sessions only in the evenings, and she is available for messaging and live chat in the morning and afternoon sessions as well as other available times.
