Welcome, my name is Leslie and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I have over 13 years of experience working in the field. I have worked in community counseling centers, organizations specializing child abuse and in private practice. I have experience working with depression, anxiety, PTSD, various forms of childhood abuse such as sexual, physical and emotional, relationship issues, parenting problems, life transitions and helping people focus on what creates true joy in their lives.
My counseling theory is known as Adlerian or individual counseling. This theory proposes that our lifestyles are heavily influenced by our childhood and family situations, as well as by society. We function best when we are successful by our own individual standards and when we feel connected to other people and society as a whole. I also have a great deal of experience and training in client centered, cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma focused and solution focused therapies and use those methods in my practice.
Our relationship will be a collaborative one to establish your goals for counseling. I will used a variety of methods to help you gain insight and motivation resulting in action such as exploring family history and early memories, homework assignments, contracts, suggestions, and processing your feelings and thoughts. You are taking a big step to finding true joy and happiness. I am excited to go on this journey with you!

Many people wonder whether remote counseling can truly help. For a wide range of common concerns – such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, or managing life changes – online therapy has been found to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions.
A major benefit of remote therapy is scheduling flexibility. Individuals can connect with a therapist in the format that best suits them, whether that is a video call, a phone session, a live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to incorporate therapy into a busy life.
Licensed professionals provide online care, and if someone feels a different match would be better, it is possible to switch therapists. For many people, online therapy offers an accessible and effective option for addressing everyday mental health needs and navigating personal challenges.
