Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
ABOUT ME
Hello, Welcome, and Thanks for contacting me!
It takes courage to reach out for support and embark on your quest of self-discovery, change, and healing, but I am glad you did.
My name is Steve Valente, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Colorado and Idaho. I have been a social worker for 27 years, and I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for 14 years. I graduated in 2007 from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan with my Master’s Degree in Social Work and in 1994 from Michigan State University with my BS in Psychology.
I am experienced in working with adolescents, adults of all ages, and couples who are experiencing anxiety, depression, attachment disorders, trauma, and relationship issues. My career path has provided me with expertise in working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and the Children’s Foster Care system.
In me, you will find a therapist who is accepting, non-judgmental, supportive, and respectful. I take a strengths-based and self-determined approach. I have a strong belief that you are the expert in your own life. As such, I am here to serve as a guide and to assist you in defining and achieving the counseling goals that are most important and meaningful to you.
I will always be honest with you, and I will challenge you from time to time, but will do so in a kind, polite, and compassionate manner.
I take an eclectic approach to therapy and incorporate a variety of treatment modalities in order to provide individualized and customized treatment. I find the most success with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Client-Centered Therapy, and Cognitive Restructuring, as these treatment methods are efficient and effective for discovering and identifying the root cause of irrational beliefs and negative thought patterns.
I am honored to be considered as an ally on your journey.
I Look forward to meeting you soon!

Many people wonder whether virtual therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life transitions, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions.
One major benefit is flexibility – clients can choose the format that fits their routine and comfort level, whether that means video sessions, phone appointments, live chat, or in-app messaging. This adaptability makes it easier to maintain consistent care alongside work, family, and other responsibilities.
Licensed professionals deliver care through these remote formats, and if a different therapeutic fit is desired, clients generally have the option to switch therapists. For many people, online therapy offers an accessible, practical route to address everyday mental health and relationship concerns without sacrificing the quality of care.
