Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
My name is Dr. Ouellette and have been working with BetterHelp for some time now. My practice has evolved and changed in ways that necessitate a re-introduction …
My name is Dr. Claude Ouellette. Over the years, I have acquired a Ph.D. in Psychology, as well as the Mental Health Professional (MHP) and Child Mental Health Specialist (CMHS) credentials. This is less impressive than the pursuit of excellence which I am currently undertaking via a Ph.D. in Psychoanalysis (degree which I hope to complete in the next 3 to 4 years).
I have, as a practitioner, over 30+ years of experience in providing mental health services – from intake, to assessment, to counseling/psychotherapy, to key collaborative work. While I continue to enjoy these aspects of my work, I will focus my work at BetterHelp, according to the following parameters:
1- I will work exclusively with individuals struggling with a dissociation identity disorder (aka DID).
2- As a structured individual, therapy can be negotiated but needs to include (a) an informal dialogue to assess needs, (b) the use of assessment(s), and (c) a dialogue as to how to monitor progress over time.
3- As my patient, be aware that I plan to use Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and Ego State interventions.
4- Also, be aware you might be asked to participate in a doctoral-level study. Participation has always and remains voluntary – we can talk about this as we work together.
If these work parameters are acceptable to you, we can talk and define the kind of work we can to together, Dr. Ouellette

Dr. Claude Ouellette has worked with BetterHelp for some time and brings a long-standing commitment to clinical practice. He holds a Ph.D. in Psychology and also holds credentials as a mental health professional and as a child mental health specialist. He is a licensed mental health counselor in Washington.
With over 30 years of experience, Dr. Ouellette’s work has spanned intake, assessment, counseling and psychotherapy, and collaborative interventions. While he continues to value those elements of practice, his work on this platform is focused according to specific parameters he has established.
He works exclusively with individuals managing dissociative identity disorder (DID). His approach is structured but negotiable – beginning with an informal conversation to clarify needs, followed by the use of appropriate assessments, and a plan for monitoring progress over time. He plans to use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Ego State interventions as part of treatment.
Clients should also be aware that they may be invited to participate in a doctoral-level study; any participation is voluntary and can be discussed as therapy progresses. If these work parameters are acceptable, Dr. Ouellette is available to discuss and define the kind of work they will do together.
For many common concerns – such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life changes – online therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person treatment. Research and clinical experience indicate that these typical issues often respond well to care delivered remotely.
One major benefit of online therapy is flexibility. People can connect with a therapist in the format that fits their life best – video sessions, phone calls, live chat, or in-app messaging – which makes it simpler to maintain regular contact and incorporate therapy into a busy schedule.
All therapists offering online services are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to change therapists if they would like a different fit. That flexibility, combined with the practical advantages of remote access, makes online therapy a viable option for many who are seeking support.
