Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hello-
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been working in this field for over 20 years in various behavioral healthcare positions. I enjoy my profession! There are not many professions that challenge you as a practitioner to grow and develop just as much as the clients . I like to think of counseling as the gift that keeps on giving!
If you met me about 24 years ago, I would have introduce myself as a elementary school teacher who loves working with children. I enjoyed my profession but I was not fulfilled. Through a series of highs and lows in my life, educators, family, friends and sometimes strangers were strategically placed at various points of my life which tilted me like a pinball in an arcade game to what I feel I was truly meant to do with my life. I guess you can tell I was an english literature major! I truly believe that every life has value and purpose. Sometimes it takes some of us longer than others to figure out what that purpose is but although we are apart of the human race, life is not a race.
I have experience working in hospital settings, non-profit agencies, as well as private practice. Everyone will not agree with the choices that we make in our lives but if we can look in the mirror and be happy with the person you see looking back at you, you’ve won! I try to provide my clients with a safe place to learn, grow and sometimes to simply breathe and put yourself first.
There is not one definition of happiness. Every person’s idea of happiness is different and unique. I would welcome the opportunity to hear your idea of happiness and if you do not know it right now, help you define happiness for you.
I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Be Well,
Dr. Tammy Freeman

Dr. Tammy Freeman is a mental health professional with 21 years of clinical experience who practices in New Jersey. She is licensed to practice in New Jersey as a Licensed Professional Counselor and is also licensed in New York as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor.
Her path to counseling began earlier in her career as an elementary school teacher who loved working with children. Life changes and meaningful encounters with educators, family, friends and even strangers redirected her toward the helping profession she now practices. She attributes that journey to a deep belief that every life has value and purpose.
Dr. Freeman has worked across hospital settings, non-profit agencies and in private practice. She provides a supportive space where people can learn, grow and sometimes simply breathe and prioritize their own well-being. Her approach emphasizes personal development for both the person seeking help and the therapist engaged in the work.
Her clinical specialties include stress, anxiety, family conflicts, self-esteem, depression, coping with life changes, addictions, relationship issues, trauma and abuse, grief, intimacy-related concerns and parenting issues. She is also experienced in working with sleeping disorders, anger management, career difficulties, bipolar disorder, compassion fatigue, coaching, and supporting veterans and first responders.
Dr. Freeman welcomes the opportunity to hear each person’s view of happiness and to help clarify what happiness might look like for them. She looks forward to hearing from prospective clients and supporting them in their next steps toward well-being.
Many people ask whether virtual therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person care.
One major benefit is convenience. Clients can connect in the way that fits their life best – through video sessions, phone calls, live chat or in-app messaging – which often makes it easier to keep continuity of care.
The clinicians providing online care are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to switch therapists if they need a different fit. This flexibility and range of communication options can make therapy more accessible for many people seeking support.
