Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hey, my dear! My name is Dr. Curtesia Plunkett (affectionately known as Dr. C) & I am a Licensed Counseling & Forensic Psychologist based in Austin, TX. I personally know how asking for support can be one of the most difficult things ever, so I applaud you for taking the step to even consider allowing another soul on your life’s journey! 👏🏾
I have over 15 years of experience in providing individual/group/family/couples counseling, crisis intervention, outreach programming, teaching, and conducting a variety of assessments. I work with those across the lifespan–addressing a wide variety of presenting concerns (ie., anxiety, depression , grief, trauma, life transitions, etc). Notably, I specialize in working with other mental health professionals (A healer of healers), BIPOC community, & the LGBTQ+ community.
I see you. I hear you. I AM you.
I am not your “typical” mental health practitioner as I work from the lens of being a full ass human living a real complex life right alongside you. One of the greatest gifts & most humbling things I’ve been blessed to experience as I’ve traversed this thing called life, is being gifted the ability to sit with & join someone in the center of their distress, pain, trauma, and joy. While being able extend a hand, assuring them that they are not alone.
I believe in OUR ability to heal, grow, & thrive …. Despite the obstacles that life loves to through our way. I do this utilizing a holistic & eclectic approach tailored to each client that is grounded in Psychodynamic, Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT), & Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy. I encircle all of this knowledge with humor, warmth, grace, & gentleness. I tend to be honest & challenging in my approach, through love. As one thing I’ve come to realize in life is that we CANNOT heal in a space of judgment… with self-judgment being the biggest culprit.
