Eric Hulsing

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like the world is too much? As someone with lived experience of ADHD, dyspraxia, and depression, I understand the challenges of being a dreamer in a complex world. With four years of experience as a therapist and prior experience as a case manager and social caseworker in the mental health and developmental fields, I bring a deep understanding of neurodivergence and the obstacles individuals face.

I offer an integrative, person-centered, and strengths-based approach, typically combining evidence-based practices with elements of art and philosophy because I believe therapy is a science, an art, and a philosophy. My approach is adaptable to each individual’s needs. In working with children, I incorporate play in therapy to support emotional expression and self-regulation. With young people (teens and young adults), I integrate the Transition to Independence Model (TIP) to build executive functioning skills, self-determination, and confidence in navigating life transitions.

My Approach Includes (among others):
DBT and mindfulness for emotional regulation
Expressive Arts Therapy and play therapy for creative healing
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) for practical, goal-oriented progress
Motivational Interviewing (MI) to explore motivation and readiness for change
Transition to Independence Model (TIP) for supporting teens and young adults
Taking the first step to sign up for therapy takes courage, and I am proud of you for getting started. Whether you are navigating burnout, trauma, or the feeling of being “too much and not enough” at the same time, we will build skills together to explore your story, embrace your strengths, and move forward with clarity.

About

Eric Hulsing is a Colorado-based therapist who brings four years of experience as a therapist together with earlier work as a case manager and social caseworker in mental health and developmental services. He also speaks from lived experience with ADHD, dyspraxia, and depression, which shapes his perspective on neurodivergence and the hurdles many people face when their inner world and external demands feel out of sync.

His practice follows an integrative, person-centered, strengths-based framework that pairs evidence-based techniques with elements of art and philosophy – reflecting his belief that therapy is simultaneously a science, an art, and a philosophy. Eric adapts his approach to the individual in front of him, using play with children to support emotional expression and self-regulation, and applying the Transition to Independence Model (TIP) with teens and young adults to build executive functioning, self-determination, and confidence during life transitions.

Among the methods he commonly uses are dialectical behavior therapy and mindfulness for emotional regulation, expressive arts and play therapy for creative healing, solution-focused brief therapy for practical, goal-oriented progress, and motivational interviewing to explore motivation and readiness for change. He works with concerns including ADHD, autism, executive functioning challenges, anxiety, depression, and trauma, and offers neurodivergent-affirming care.

He is licensed in Colorado as a Licensed Professional Counselor – CO LPC, license number LPC.0020003. Eric acknowledges that starting therapy takes courage and he aims to partner with people to explore their stories, identify strengths, and build skills that support clearer direction and forward movement.

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

Many people wonder whether remote therapy truly helps. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or life transitions, online therapy has been found to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person care.

One major benefit is convenience and flexibility – clients can choose the format that fits their life, whether that is video sessions, phone calls, live chat, or in-app messaging. That flexibility makes it easier to attend sessions consistently and integrate therapeutic work into a busy schedule.

Therapists who offer online care are licensed professionals, and the option to change therapists is available if someone seeks a different fit. For many people, remote sessions provide a practical, effective route to getting support and making steady progress toward their goals.
