Now, let me tell you a little bit about myself:
I’m Eric and I moved to Australia eight years ago from Brazil. I am an AASW Accredited Mental Health Social Worker. Throughout my 4 years of clinical experience, I have supported individuals with anxiety, depression, trauma-stress related issues, addictions, compulsions, impulse control, relationship and low self-esteem issues, and LGBTIQA+ minority stress.
I acknowledge that discussing our vulnerabilities with therapist can be daunting. Furthermore, changes can be challenging. Thus, through a trauma-informed, client-centred and non-judgmental approach, I hope collaborate with you in an exploration of how past experiences shape present, build resilience and hope, and develop skills to foster meaningful change. I hope to create a space to help clients to build strengths, enhance their sense of self-efficacy, and achieve overall well-being by learning how to meet their needs through positive behavioural, contextual and lifestyle changes.

Eric Rangel Oliveira is an AASW-accredited mental health social worker who moved to Australia from Brazil eight years ago. With four years of clinical experience, he works with people facing anxiety, depression, stress, addictions, compulsive behaviours, impulse control difficulties, relationship challenges, low self-esteem and trauma-related concerns, including LGBTIQA+ minority stress.
He offers psychotherapy to individuals dealing with substance use, obsessive-compulsive issues, trauma-stress-related problems and physical health challenges that affect mental well-being. Eric applies a trauma-informed, client-centred and non-judgmental approach to explore how past experiences shape the present, build resilience and support meaningful change. He aims to help people develop skills for mood regulation, manage anxiety and daily stressors, and improve interpersonal functioning.
Eric draws on a range of evidence-based methods, including trauma-informed care, a harm reduction approach, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), schema therapy, recovery-oriented cognitive therapy (CT-R), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT) and mindfulness-based interventions.
