Hello, my name is Kat and I am an anxiety and trauma focused therapist and clinical supervisor. I work from a gendered perspective with women and girls and those who identify as female only from the age of 14 and above.
I support clients who have experienced any kind of trauma or abuse, such as physical, sexual, psychological, neglect and/or any kind of anxiety such as generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety, PTSD, low self-esteem, depression etc.
I work in an integrative way with clients using a phased approach to recovery. Discussing trauma and the feelings it has left you with can be very difficult. I will offer you the space to talk and be truly heard about matters that are causing you distress. As an Integrative Relational therapist, I will ensure our sessions will be personalised to meet your specific needs and I will draw upon a range of therapeutic approaches and techniques to support you such as CBT, existentialism and other humanistic approaches. I work collaboratively with clients, meaning we explore your thoughts and feelings together from a non-judgemental perspective at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I believe you are the expert on you and I am there to support you reach the change, personal insight, self-awareness and growth you are looking for.
Before I became a therapist, I worked in mental health hospitals and gained extensive experience working with adolescents and adults diagnosed with an eating disorder (anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, rumination disorder, orthorexia etc.) I am passionate about this area of work and continue to work with female clients who are experiencing disordered eating. Clients seeking therapeutic support for this should, however, be under the care of their GP or other medical professional alongside their therapy, due to the physical risks connected with having an eating disorder.
If you are seeking therapy for something other than a specific trauma, ED or anxiety issue, I would be glad to meet with you so you can determine if my way of working will be suitable for your needs. I believe empowerment is the key to moving on after trauma and therefore, it is empowerment that I put at the forefront of my work with clients.

Kat Hurst is an anxiety- and trauma-focused therapist and clinical supervisor based in the United Kingdom. She works from a gendered perspective with women and girls and with people who identify as female, offering therapy from the age of 14 and above.
She supports clients who have experienced trauma or abuse – including physical, sexual, psychological abuse or neglect – and those living with anxiety-related difficulties such as generalized anxiety, social anxiety, PTSD, low self-esteem or depression. Her practice also continues to support female clients experiencing disordered eating.
Working in an integrative way, Kat uses a phased approach to recovery that recognises discussing trauma and its emotional impacts can be difficult. As an Integrative Relational therapist she personalises sessions to each client’s needs and draws on approaches and techniques such as CBT, existentialism and other humanistic methods. She offers a space to talk and be heard, and collaborates with clients from a non-judgemental stance at a pace that feels comfortable.
Before qualifying as a therapist, Kat worked in mental health hospitals and gained extensive experience supporting adolescents and adults with eating disorders, including anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, rumination disorder and orthorexia. Clients seeking support for an eating disorder should remain under the care of their GP or another medical professional alongside therapy because of the physical risks associated with these conditions.
Kat emphasises empowerment in her work and seeks to help clients achieve the change, personal insight, self-awareness and growth they are aiming for.
