Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am a licensed professional counselor in New Jersey with over 25 years of experience. My counseling style is warm and interactive. My approach is very holistic; exploring many areas of your life and seeing which you would like to work on first – knowing that many overlap and contribute to well being – or the lack of it.
I have specialized most often with people of all ages who have Attention issues. These issues rarely show up alone; teaming with depression, anxiety, OCD, sleep disorders and executive function deficits. They also impact relationships and job performance and so there are many places to jump in and do great work together.
I also have a lot of experience with women in transition as they move through the many passages and milestones that come with change and age.
Along with being an LPC, I am a certified Life, Mindfulness and Wellness coach. Coaching provides an incredible opportunity to partner with a professional dedicated to support you to see the changes you want to make in your life. A coaching relationship helps you build practical strategies for success. Working with you, I will help you clarify your goals and encourage you to realize them based on strengths you have and may have forgotten. Gaining new resources, new tools, new skills- and practicing them, together we will create new possibilities to see you flourish!

Barbara Muller-Ackerman is a licensed professional counselor practicing in New Jersey with 28 years of clinical experience. She is authorized to practice as a professional counselor in New Jersey and holds LPC credential number 37PC00082900.
Her counseling style is warm and interactive, and she uses a holistic approach – exploring multiple areas of a client’s life to determine where to begin. She recognizes that many parts of life overlap and collectively influence overall well-being or its absence.
Barbara has most often worked with people of all ages who face attention difficulties. These attention issues frequently appear alongside depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive tendencies, sleep disturbances, and executive function challenges. Because these patterns affect relationships and job performance, there are multiple entry points for meaningful therapeutic work.
She also has extensive experience supporting women in transition as they move through life passages and milestones. In addition to her LPC, Barbara is a certified Life, Mindfulness, and Wellness coach. In her coaching work she partners with clients to clarify goals, develop practical strategies grounded in their strengths, and practice new skills, helping to expand resources and create fresh possibilities for growth.
Many people wonder whether remote therapy can make a real difference. For common concerns – such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life changes – online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions.
One major advantage is flexibility. Clients can connect with a therapist in the format that fits their life best – video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging – which makes it easier to incorporate therapy into a busy schedule.
All participating practitioners are licensed professionals, and clients may switch therapists at any time if they would prefer a different fit. This approach helps many people access consistent support in the way that works for them.
