Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Welcome! Thank you for your interest in working with me at Betterhelp. I’d like to take a few moments to introduce myself so that you can better decide whether you and I will be a good fit for working together as you pursue your goals.
I am licensed in New York with 9 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, trauma and abuse, anger management, & motivation, self-esteem, and confidence. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.
I am trained and certified with EMDRIA as a certified EMDR specialist. I have received a post-graduate degree in trauma and dissociation, and I am trained in clinical hypnosis through the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis. I am very grounded in systems thinking and recognize that a change in one area of our lives changes all areas of our lives. I am also trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS).
Even before graduating from Regent University with my MA in CMHC, I worked as a volunteer counseling paraprofessional for 8 years with the United States Army serving our veterans and their families. My BA in theology from NBC also enabled me to serve in a pastoral counseling role in the civilian world.
All of this experience, along with a 30+ years marriage, raising children, thriving despite a chronic illness, and facing life in general, informs my counseling and coaching practice.
Life coaching provided an opportunity for me to continue offering personal growth support to others through an empathic and informed interpersonal engagement process, while also allowing me the ability to be mobile. My program at iNLP is accredited by the largest and most reputable coaching regulatory system- the International Coaching Federation, as well as by the National Board for Certified Counselors, a mental health credentialing body.
Although a surprise to me at first, I have fallen in love with the coaching process. Client empowerment was always huge for me as a counselor and my stance was to never offer advice but to believe in my client’s own ability to co-create a plan to address mental health challenges. Coaching has enabled me to take this client-empowered stance even more seriously through the process it utilizes, whether in a coaching or counseling setting.
Logistical Information about services I offer through BetterHelp: As we work together, it is important that you understand that we will do the majority of our contact through our scheduled sessions, and much less through chat. I work part-time ( Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays) here at BetterHelp, I will respond as soon as possible, on those days, to messages I receive. I am certain you can appreciate the necessity of a healthy work-life balance, and this is one way I guard my own wellbeing.

Tracy Rider is a New York Licensed Mental Health Counselor (NY LMHC 007933) with nine years of professional experience. She works with clients on stress and anxiety, trauma and abuse, anger, self-esteem, coping with life changes, and related concerns, and she approaches each person with respect, sensitivity, and compassion.
Her training includes certification by EMDRIA as an EMDR specialist, a post-graduate degree in trauma and dissociation, clinical hypnosis training through the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, and additional training in Internal Family Systems (IFS). She also integrates systems thinking into her work, recognizing that change in one area of life often affects others.
Before completing an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Regent University, Tracy served for eight years as a volunteer counseling paraprofessional with the United States Army, supporting veterans and their families. She holds a BA in theology from NBC, which supported earlier pastoral counseling roles in civilian settings.
Her background includes both clinical counseling and life coaching. Tracy completed a coaching program at iNLP that is accredited by the International Coaching Federation and recognized by the National Board for Certified Counselors. She values client empowerment and prefers to collaborate with clients to co-create plans rather than simply offering advice.
Outside of formal credentials and professional roles, Tracy’s personal experience – including a long marriage, raising children, and living with a chronic illness – also informs her therapeutic perspective.
In her practice through this service, she offers most contact during scheduled sessions and uses messaging less frequently. Tracy works part-time on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays and responds to messages on those days as promptly as possible, maintaining a clear work-life balance to support her well-being.
