Ebony Shoemo

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

Hello, I am Ebony Shoemo, and I am here to help you dig. Dig not only to find the courage to take the step towards healing, but to work with you to gain access to the pieces you need for change. I am a graduate of Troy University with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am a License Professional Counselor with the state of Georgia as well as a member of the National Board of Certified Counselors.

Over the past four years, I have worked in community mental health as well as a mental health therapist in the public school system. I have experience working with children, adolescents and adults with diverse backgrounds. I gravitate towards a person-centered approach where you are the expert and lead the therapy session. I believe in treating the whole self. I utilize Cognitive behavior therapy, mindfulness, solution focused brief therapy, social skills training, relaxation training and acceptance and commitment therapy. My areas of specialty include, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, mood disorders, trauma and crisis interventions.

I am a wife, mother and a veteran who love to serve those who have served. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband and kids. I love to hike, exercise, and cuddle up with my blanket/heater and watch a good movie. I am excited about our journey and looking forward to the dig!

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

Many people question whether remote therapy can truly make a difference. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions. A key benefit is flexibility – clients can connect in the way that fits their life best, choosing video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. That range of options often makes it easier to maintain continuity of care amid busy schedules. Therapists who provide these services are licensed professionals, and clients may switch therapists if they need a different fit. Online therapy offers a convenient, flexible way to access professional support for many everyday mental health needs.
