Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hello, my name is Evan, and I’ve been practicing as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with the state of Florida for a little over 6 years now. I’ve worked extensively with families and individuals, substance abuse, eating disorders, mood disorders, trauma, depression, and anxiety. My primary approaches to therapy revolve around Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Humanistic or client centered, Solution focused, and Motivational Interviewing. When I begin a counseling session, I determine which approaches to use based on the response I get from my client. If something isn’t working for you, I won’t keep pushing the approach. I operate under the premise that every person is different (although I do believe we all have a lot more in common than may be clear initially). Therapy was never intended to be a one size fits all approach, and you have the right to get the best results out of your therapy sessions.
I mentioned that CBT is an approach that I enjoy. I believe that the purpose of therapy is to take an introspective look at oneself. Through this process, it is imperative to take a look at the connection between your thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and actions. I have experience running groups teaching CBT and general coping skills, and I have personally witnessed clients feel a great deal of comfort when they begin to look at these connections. I also thoroughly enjoyed running family groups with parents/loved ones of clients with substance abuse or eating disorders.
I believe counseling is for everyone, not just those with a diagnosed disorder. Counseling is a journey, and I’m always excited to take that journey with you. It is a collaborative effort, and I’m here to accompany you through this process and take it in whatever direction you would like. It takes courage to be vulnerable and to reach out for help.
I look forward to helping you reach your goals and to becoming the best possible version of yourself!

Evan Burton is a licensed mental health counselor practicing in Florida with a little over six years of clinical experience.
He has worked extensively with both families and individuals, addressing concerns such as substance abuse, eating disorders, mood disorders, trauma, depression, and anxiety.
His work is grounded in several evidence-informed approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), humanistic or client-centered methods, solution-focused techniques, and Motivational Interviewing. Evan selects and adapts these approaches based on each person’s response – if a method is not helping, he will shift direction rather than continue to push it.
CBT is a particular interest for him; he helps clients explore the connections between thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and actions. He has experience leading groups that teach CBT and general coping skills, and he has facilitated family groups for parents and loved ones of people dealing with substance abuse or eating disorders.
Evan believes counseling is appropriate for anyone, not only those with a diagnosis, and views therapy as a collaborative journey. He partners with clients to pursue their goals and supports them in working toward becoming the best possible version of themselves.
He holds Florida licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, a credential that authorizes him to provide professional therapy (FL LMHC MH11302).
Many people wonder whether online therapy can deliver meaningful results. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One of the main advantages is greater flexibility – you can connect with a therapist in whichever format feels most comfortable, whether that is a video call, a phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule.
Licensed professionals provide online therapy, and if you decide you need a different match, you are able to switch to another therapist at any time.
