Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of Colorado and New Mexico. I specialize in grief, loss and life transition counseling. I have worked in acute care hospital settings, plus palliative and hospice care organizations for many years helping families and individuals at pivotal points in their life. I have a special interest and experience in older adults as they face difficult challenges and decisions regarding advanced care planning, and downsizing. Often people face isolation, loss of independence and increased independence on others, all at the same time. I understand these life transitions can happen in a moment, and are often paired with a traumatic life event.
I start by learning your story, in your words, at your pace. Curiosity leads the conversation and often results in feeling heard and seen as you truly are, not as you think others expect you to be. Through greater understanding of ourselves and what motivates us, we can often find new or renewed interest and joy in our life.
It takes courage to acknowledge the range of feelings that accompany loss, grief and life transitions. Feelings of overwhelm can mix with feeling dull and unable to find joy in our lives. I understand these feeling first hand and know the value of seeking help with moving through uncomfortable, painful times in our lives. I look forward to hearing your story and helping you as you work through difficult, sad or confusing times in your life.

Anne Karsian is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who practices in Colorado and New Mexico and has seven years of clinical experience. She focuses on grief, loss and life transitions, and also supports people dealing with family conflicts, self-esteem concerns, career difficulties, coping with life changes, stress and anxiety, relationship and intimacy issues, parenting challenges, anger management, depression, and compassion fatigue.
Her professional background includes work in acute care hospital settings as well as palliative and hospice care organizations, where she has assisted individuals and families at pivotal moments in their lives. She has particular experience and interest in working with older adults facing complex decisions such as advanced care planning and downsizing.
She recognizes that transitions often bring isolation, loss of independence, or increased reliance on others, and that these changes can occur suddenly or alongside traumatic events. Anne begins by listening to each person’s story in their own words and at their own pace, letting curiosity guide the conversation so people can feel truly seen rather than shaped by others’ expectations.
Through developing greater self-understanding and exploring what motivates behavior, clients frequently discover renewed interest and moments of joy. Anne acknowledges the courage it takes to face the wide range of feelings that accompany loss – from overwhelm to emotional numbness – and values the role of seeking support to move through painful, uncomfortable times. She looks forward to hearing each story and helping people navigate difficult, sad, or confusing periods in their lives.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly help. For a range of common concerns – including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and navigating life changes – online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions.
One of the main benefits is scheduling flexibility. Clients can connect in the way that feels most comfortable to them – by video call, phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging – which makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life.
All therapists are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to switch therapists if they decide another fit would be better. Online therapy offers a practical, adaptable way to access clinical support while maintaining the core therapeutic elements that make treatment effective.
