Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hello! Pleasure to meet you. My name is Michelle Merindino, LMHC. I am a Licensed Counselor in the State of NY. Much of my experience have been working with clients diagnosed with mood or personality disorders, depression, anxiety, etc . However, I strongly believe that therapy is a beneficial tool for absolutely anyone who is seeking to navigate life challenges in a healthy way, and improve daily functioning to meet their highest potential.
My perspective is primarily person centered and humanistic , in which I create a safe, empathetic and non-judgmental space, while guiding you through
interpersonal changes, processing emotions, self awareness, and healing. I hope to build a therapeutic relationship based on trust and respect. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), we can examine patterns of unhealthy thoughts or feelings. Developing a deeper understanding of the role these patterns play in dysfunctional behaviors, will allow space to both challenge and break these cycles.
I do not believe that one counseling approach fits all. When practicing, I aim to apply different modalities, and tailor therapy to best serve a client’s unique needs, circumstances and goals.
I commend you for taking this courageous step! I look forward to assisting you in processes that include self exploration, learning coping strategies, considering new perspectives, building confidence, utilizing effective communication, recognizing destructive patterns, and any other therapeutic goals that will aide you in overcoming barriers to ultimately achieve the best, most fulfilled version of yourself.
