Jasmine Gates

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

I love working with persons going through life transitions and the LGBTQ+ community. I have a passion for working with couples of all backgrounds including poly couples looking for connection and peace. I also work closely with women in and out of relationships.

Are you seeking a therapist who can provide an atmosphere where you feel comfortable enough to vent, find relief, and explore your story– however unconventional it may be? Do you crave a space where you can find yourself or be encouraged to be the expert on your life while being held accountable for your goals? If you want to live a life that aligns with your values or true identity while communicating and reinforcing your boundaries, I can help you get there. Together, using strength-based and person-centered therapy with a psychodynamic touch (and a healthy dose of humor), we can build a bond and begin your journey to building the confidence to be who you want to be. Finally feel self-assured in your value and speak up for what you want in your life, relationships, and career.

I also come from a military family that has been located throughout the United States, allowing me the opportunity to meet people from varying backgrounds. This has contributed to my ability to become more culturally competent when working with clients.

If you’re ready to build a happy, thriving life while being true to yourself, let’s chat today.

My Experience

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been practicing therapy for 4 years. I obtained a Bachelors in Psychology in 2010 at Eastern Michigan University and completed my Master of Social Work at Johnson C. Smith University, graduating in 2017.

When I’m not in therapist mode, I’m…

Either out and about on the town attending open mics, enjoying brunch, having fun at concerts or at home , watching the Food Network, cartoons, dramas, and comedies.

About

Jasmine Gates works with people navigating life transitions and is especially dedicated to serving the LGBTQ+ community. She brings experience supporting couples from diverse backgrounds – including polyamorous partnerships – and works closely with women whether they are in or out of relationships.

Clients can expect a welcoming space to vent, find relief, and explore their stories, even when those stories fall outside conventional expectations. Jasmine encourages clients to be the experts on their own lives while offering accountability and clear direction toward personal goals. She helps people align their daily lives with their values and true identities, strengthen communication, and reinforce healthy boundaries.

Her approach blends strength-based and person-centered therapy with psychodynamic insights and a healthy sense of humor to build trust and confidence. The goal of her work is to help clients feel self-assured in their worth and able to advocate for what they want in relationships, career, and life.

Raised in a military family that moved across the United States, Jasmine gained experience with many cultures and backgrounds, which informs her culturally responsive work with clients. She brings six years of clinical experience to her practice and holds professional social work licenses in both North Carolina and South Carolina – licensed as a clinical social worker in North Carolina and licensed to practice independently with clinical emphasis in South Carolina. Jasmine also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Eastern Michigan University and a Master of Social Work from Johnson C. Smith University.

Is Online Therapy the Right Choice for Your Mental Health Journey?

Many people wonder whether remote counseling can really help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, and navigating life changes, virtual therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions.

One major benefit is flexibility – clients can choose the communication style that fits their needs, whether that is a video session, a phone conversation, live chat, or in-app messaging. This adaptability makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule and to access support from wherever one is located.

All participating professionals are licensed, and clients have the option to request a different therapist if they need a better fit. For many people, online therapy offers an effective, convenient path to addressing everyday mental health and relational concerns while keeping care accessible.
