Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
As a licensed LMFT California clinician and researcher for over 35 years, I hold a Doctorate in Psychology and advanced degrees in art, as well as teaching certificates for public, private, and Montessori schools. I have presented anti-bullying presentations at numerous elementary schools, both in New Jersey and California where I empowered individuals to alter their uncomfortable world.
Although my therapeutic orientation is eclectic, I have been extensively trained in solution focused, cognitive behavioral brief therapy which is highly strategic, exploratory, and solution based rather than problem oriented. Together we will develop an individual treatment plan and you will leave the very first session with concrete strategies that will foster hope and improve the quality of your life. My primary theoretical focus is based on Murray Bowen and Carl centered family systems. These systems have proved over and over again to be effective, not only with families, but successfully treat all realms of individual and relationship issues to address such areas as depression, abuse, anger management, loss and grief, parenting issues, bullying, and many other challenging life transitions, to help facilitate positive growth and maturity. I prefer video or regular calls in lieu of texts between sessions. However, if you do decide to text me, I will do my best to respond in a timely manner. As you read and consider my profile, I would like to thank you for the courage it takes if you agree to begin your therapeutic journey with me.

Yvonne Vermillion is a California-based clinician who combines clinical practice, research experience, and educational training to support individuals and families. She holds a Doctorate in Psychology, advanced degrees in art, and teaching certificates for public, private, and Montessori schools. She has delivered anti-bullying presentations at elementary schools in both New Jersey and California, aiming to empower students and school communities to address difficult social situations.
As a licensed marriage and family therapist (CA LMFT 29324) with 29 years of clinical practice, she uses an eclectic therapeutic orientation shaped by extensive training in solution-focused and cognitive behavioral brief therapies. Her approach is strategic and solution-based rather than problem-centered, and she works collaboratively with clients to create individualized treatment plans. Clients can expect to leave the first session with concrete strategies intended to foster hope and improve daily functioning.
Her primary theoretical foundation draws on Murray Bowen and Carl-centered family systems, frameworks she applies to a wide range of concerns including depression, abuse, anger management, loss and grief, parenting challenges, bullying, and other significant life transitions. Yvonne prefers video or regular phone calls over text communication between sessions; if clients do choose to text, she will make every reasonable effort to respond promptly. She expresses gratitude for the courage it takes to begin therapy and welcomes those ready to start the therapeutic process with her.
Many people wonder whether online therapy truly helps. For commonly experienced concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or major life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
A major benefit is flexibility – clients can meet with therapists in the format that fits their lives, including video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility often makes it easier to maintain consistent care while balancing work, family, and other commitments.
Therapists who provide online services are licensed professionals, and clients may change therapists at any time if they seek a different fit. For many people, the convenience and accessibility of remote sessions make therapy more attainable without sacrificing therapeutic quality.
