Yen-Pei Huang is a licensed professional counselor practicing in Pennsylvania with 14 years of experience. She approaches therapy in a client-centered, collaborative, holistic, and integrative way, supporting people as they learn about themselves and find their own paths to healing from life’s challenges.
Yen-Pei views life as an adventure and believes individuals have the ability to choose their routes and make meaningful change. In therapy she draws from a variety of evidence-informed methods - such as cognitive behavioral techniques, Gestalt therapy, narrative approaches, and expressive art therapy - and adapts interventions to match each person’s needs.
She completed an undergraduate degree in clinical psychology and graduated from a CACREP-accredited graduate counseling program at Indiana University Bloomington, which provides a strong foundation in counseling theory, assessment, and diagnosis. Her specialties include grief and loss, trauma and PTSD, anxiety and depression, couple and family issues, interpersonal and communication difficulties, stress, self-esteem, anger management, addictions, LGBT concerns, parenting and intimacy-related issues, career difficulties, bipolar disorder, and coping with life changes, along with coaching.
Having worked with diverse clientele and being an avid backpacker, Yen-Pei brings openness, flexibility, and cultural competence to her work. She conducts therapy in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
Many people want to know whether remote therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life transitions, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One major benefit is flexibility - you can connect in the way that works best for you, whether by video call, phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging. This range of options can make it simpler to fit therapy into a busy schedule.
Sessions are provided by licensed professionals and you have the option to change therapists if you need a different fit. Overall, online therapy offers a practical and effective alternative for many people seeking support with everyday mental health and relationship concerns.
