Wilfredo Guzman is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor practicing in Orlando, Florida. A native of New Jersey, he has made Central Florida his home for over 20 years and brings that local perspective to his clinical work.
He completed a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Nonprofit Organization Management from the University of Central Florida. Through lived experience, direct client work, and formal training, he has observed how trauma and significant life stressors can cause a person’s life to feel as if it is unraveling.
Guzman has worked with a wide range of populations, including at-risk youth, teenagers, people experiencing homelessness, individuals living with HIV, those facing LGBTQ+ issues, people dealing with addiction or substance misuse, both aggressors of abuse and victims of trauma and crime. He seeks to build an emotional and social connection with clients that creates a supportive space to explore solutions.
Recognizing that no single approach fits everyone, he is trained in multiple modalities with an emphasis on evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. He invites clients to engage in a collaborative process aimed at improving quality of life and overall satisfaction. When he is not working with people, he enjoys relaxing near a body of water or socializing to help build community.
Many people question whether remote therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
A major benefit is flexibility - clients can choose the mode of connection that feels most comfortable, including video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. That range of options makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule.
Licensed professionals provide these services, and if a client decides they would prefer a different therapeutic fit, they can switch therapists at any time. Online therapy offers a practical, adaptable way to pursue mental health support for many everyday concerns.
