Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Sometimes life can feel a little out of control and unbalanced somehow, when your wellbeing has reached the bottom of your priority pile again. Maybe this is how you are feeling right now. If you would like to be heard and find a space to explore what you are experiencing from the comfort of your own home, using online or telephone counselling, then I would love to help you.
I trained at Waverley Abbey College and was awarded a Diploma of Higher Education in Counselling from Middlesex University. I have since gained a Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling too.
I work as an integrative counsellor and so this means that some of the work I do will be focused on the past. Some will include how our thoughts, emotions, behaviours and bodies are connected and specifically what you want to focus on.
I am also fully committed to offering a welcoming, supportive and inclusive service.
I chose Saam Counselling Services as the name of my practice because the word Saam means together in Africaans and I believe that this is a true reflection of what a successful counselling relationship looks like.
I have experience of supporting clients dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationship issues and change.
I now work primarily with adults who are mourning a loss though. By enabling clients to share their stories, I can help them begin to process the impact of their grief. Loss can present in many ways and it’s consequences are equally varied. It is an individual path on journeys we all take at different times, which if you wanted me to, I could accompany you on. I also serve as a volunteer counsellor for Stafford and District Bereavement and Loss Support Service.
I hope that you will find working with me provides you with the opportunity to pause, reflect and take the time, within a secure environment, to consider what your needs are. You matter!

Wendy Herriott offers compassionate, person-centred counselling from her practice, Saam Counselling Services, and she welcomes people seeking support by phone or online from the comfort of their own homes. She chose the name Saam because the word Saam means together in Africaans and she sees that sense of togetherness as central to a helpful therapeutic relationship.
Trained at Waverley Abbey College, Wendy was awarded a Diploma of Higher Education in Counselling from Middlesex University and has also completed a Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling. She works in an integrative way, so some therapeutic work explores earlier life experiences while other interventions focus on how thoughts, emotions, behaviours and bodily responses connect, and on whatever the client specifically wants to address.
With four years of experience, Wendy has supported people dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationship difficulties and life changes. She now works primarily with adults who are mourning a loss, helping them to share their stories and begin to process the impact of grief. Loss can show up in many ways and she accompanies individuals on their own unique journeys through bereavement.
Wendy also volunteers as a counsellor for Stafford and District Bereavement and Loss Support Service. As a Christian, older female therapist, she aims to provide a welcoming, supportive and inclusive service where clients can pause, reflect and consider their needs within a safe therapeutic space.
Many people wonder whether remote counselling really helps. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or navigating life changes, online therapy can offer outcomes comparable to traditional face-to-face work.
One major benefit is its flexibility – clients can choose the mode of contact that suits them best, whether that is a video call, a phone session, live chat or in-app messaging. This range of options makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life.
Therapists who offer online services are licensed professionals, and if a different therapeutic fit is needed it is possible to switch to another therapist. For many people, these features make online therapy a practical and effective way to get support for everyday mental health and life challenges.
