Virginia Fick is a counselling psychologist registered with the HCPC who trained in the United States, holding an MA in Counseling – Clinical Mental Health and an MS in Psychology. She relocated to the United Kingdom to join the NHS in 2022 and has since accrued three years of clinical experience.
Her career has spanned a range of mental health settings, including a nonprofit organisation, private practice, and a community mental health clinic. Her clinical focus covers relationship difficulties, trauma and abuse, intimacy-related concerns, and work on motivation, self esteem, and confidence.
She practices as a female therapist and lists working with gay clients among her specialties; she also offers therapy from a non-religious, liberal perspective. Virginia approaches therapy with the view that each person is the expert in their own story and has strengths to draw on when facing challenges.
Taking the first step toward therapy can require courage, and Virginia acknowledges and honours that decision as clients begin their work together.
Many people ask whether therapy delivered online can really help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or major life transitions, evidence indicates online therapy can be just as effective as traditional in-person work.
A major benefit is flexibility – you can connect in the format that suits you best, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This range of options makes it easier to integrate therapy into a busy life.
All participating therapists are licensed professionals, and you may choose to switch to a different clinician at any time if you feel a different fit would be better. Online therapy offers practical access and professional support for many of the issues people commonly seek help for.
