Veronica Cook

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

I am licensed in Vermont with 4 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with trauma and abuse, coping with grief and loss, parenting issues, & executive and professional coaching. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.

I currently primarily work with children and adolescents, but I have experience working with adults who have experienced trauma and impairment due to mental health disorders. I find I gravitate towards client centered therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. Part of following a client centered therapy approach is focusing on the therapeutic fit. This means I want to make sure that I am the best therapist for your needs. I view my role as a therapist as an opportunity for you to share your experience in an environment free of judgment. I will follow your lead to determine what goals you wish to work on. There may be times where you want a listening ear and other times you may want to problem solve. My intention is to meet you where you are at. If you are looking to problem solve I will guide you through the process by helping you explore your behavior and thoughts, and establish goals for change. I generally check messages here a few times per day Monday-Friday and respond as quickly as I can. I do appreciate your patience when it takes a bit longer at times, as I may be tending to other clients or professional/personal responsibilities. My practice hours are 5pm-7:30pm Monday – Friday. Sometimes I am able to respond to messages outside those hours. You can also book a live session with me ahead of time. Please remember that BetterHelp (or specialty site.) is not appropriate if you are in crisis or in immediate need of support. In crisis situations, please call 911, 988, or local emergency services. About

Veronica Cook is a licensed clinical mental health counselor in Vermont (VT LCMHC 068.0135506) with four years of professional experience. She supports people facing trauma and abuse, those coping with grief and loss, parents navigating family concerns, and individuals seeking executive or professional coaching. She also works with clients managing ADHD and offers care as a female therapist.

She primarily works with children and adolescents, and she also has experience treating adults who have experienced trauma or who face impairment related to mental health disorders. Veronica aims to create an open, safe space where thoughts and feelings can be expressed without judgment.

Veronica gravitates toward client-centered therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. A key part of her approach is assessing therapeutic fit to ensure she is the right match for a person’s needs. She views her role as following the client’s lead to determine goals and the pace of work. At times clients seek a listening ear; at other times they want to problem solve. When problem solving is desired, Veronica guides exploration of thoughts and behaviors and helps establish concrete goals for change.

She typically checks messages several times per day Monday through Friday and answers as promptly as possible, while asking for patience when responses take longer due to other client or professional and personal responsibilities. Her regular practice hours are 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm Monday through Friday, and she sometimes responds outside those hours. Clients may also schedule a live session in advance.

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

Many people wonder whether online therapy truly helps. For a range of common concerns – including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and navigating life transitions – online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person care. One major benefit is flexibility. People can connect in the way that suits them best: video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This variety makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule and to get support from familiar surroundings. Licensed professionals provide online therapy, and if someone feels another therapist would be a better fit, it is possible to switch practitioners. Overall, online therapy offers an accessible and effective option for many seeking support with everyday mental health challenges.
