Tiffany Thornton graduated as a nontraditional learner, earning a degree in Psychology from the University of Phoenix-AZ and a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University-MN. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Advanced Studies in Human Behavior at Capella University-MN.
Throughout her education and life, Tiffany balanced being a single parent, working full-time while completing degrees online, and adapting to the changing roles that come with becoming part of a blended family. Those experiences have shaped her perspective and contribute to a shared understanding of how life roles can shift unexpectedly.
Her aim is to help clients manage the many challenges of life by offering a supportive, nonjudgmental environment and using a multi-systems approach to therapy that is tailored to each individual. Tiffany completed Level 1 training in the Gottman Method of couples therapy and enjoys working with couples to strengthen and improve their relationships by helping partners become more in tune with themselves and one another.
She takes pride in serving as an ally to the LGBTQ community, assisting clients in addressing the specific challenges of belonging to a marginalized population, affirming identity, and contributing to broader understanding through education.
Tiffany is a licensed professional counselor in Wisconsin (WI LPC 7174-125) and brings eight years of experience to her clinical work. She practices in Wisconsin.
