Tianna Burroughs (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with eight years of clinical experience who practices in Indiana. She holds an undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Studies and a Master of Social Work from Indiana University, awarded in 2009. Tianna is licensed to practice clinical social work in both Tennessee and Indiana.
Her clinical background spans a wide range of settings, including home-based services, schools, youth shelters, residential programs, and inpatient psychiatric hospitalization. She has worked with people of all ages on issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, substance use concerns, divorce, parenting challenges, and crisis stabilization.
Tianna’s therapeutic manner is warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental, balanced with honest and direct communication. She uses strength-based and solution-focused strategies to help clients identify and build on skills they already possess. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a primary tool she employs to help clients understand how thoughts can shape feelings and behaviors, and she incorporates mindfulness and breathing exercises to support emotion regulation. She welcomes client feedback and encourages open communication about what is or is not working in therapy.
On a personal note, Tianna stepped away from full-time work for several years to stay home with her twins and to help raise her teenage niece. Her family’s moves related to her husband’s career have included time living in Indiana, Texas, and Tennessee. In her free time she enjoys outdoor activities, yoga, and interior design.
For common concerns like stress, anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, or managing life transitions, online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person care for many people. It offers a way to address everyday mental health needs from wherever you are, using evidence-based approaches adapted for remote delivery.
A major benefit of online therapy is flexibility. Individuals can connect with a therapist in the format that fits their schedule and comfort level - video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging - which can make it easier to maintain consistency in care.
Therapy delivered online is provided by licensed professionals, and clients may choose to switch therapists if they feel a different fit would be more helpful. For many, this combination of accessibility, format options, and professional guidance makes online therapy a practical option for addressing common mental health and life challenges.
