Teresa Rutledge is a licensed professional counselor in Georgia who entered the profession later in life, motivated by a long-standing desire to help others in ways that create real change. She brings nine years of experience and approaches her work with empathy and attentive listening, offering emotional support without judgment.
Many of Teresa’s clients have endured trauma, isolation, and rejection from family or friends, and some have faced self-harm, suicidal thoughts, or suicide attempts. She primarily practices from a client-centered perspective, believing that with the right support people are capable of making the decisions that work best for their lives. To complement that foundation she integrates cognitive behavioral therapy, rational emotive behavior therapy, mindfulness, positive psychology, anger management strategies, motivational interviewing, and practical coping skills for anxiety and depression.
Teresa prefers to work with adults but is also willing to see older adolescents. She emphasizes that mental health is as important as physical health and seeks to help clients move beyond memories or patterns that hold them back so they can become their best selves. Teresa is licensed in Georgia and holds the state’s professional counselor credential.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly make a difference. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
A major advantage is flexibility - you can connect with a therapist in the way that feels most comfortable, whether by video call, phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging. This range of options can make it easier to fit consistent care into a busy schedule.
Licensed professionals provide care through these remote formats, and if a different fit is needed it is possible to switch therapists at any time. For many people, the convenience and accessibility of online therapy help make meaningful progress on common mental health concerns.
