Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I have over 10 years experience working as a counsellor, a therapy supervisor and a child & adolescent mental health worker within the UK (in the voluntary sector & NHS). Prior to that I have a further 7 years experience working therapeutically supporting adults, families, children & adolescents with a range of different needs and experiences, through the local council.
My main aim in counselling is to provide clients with a respectful, inclusive, safe space where they can begin to feel comfortable in sharing what they are looking for support with & empowered that change is possible. I work in collaboration with clients, supporting them to work towards the changes that they have identified as important.
I am experienced in counselling individuals of all ages, children, young people and adults. I also have experience therapeutically supporting parents & carers with challenges that arise from parenting/ caring for children.
I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, low mood, relationship issues, family conflicts, processing challenges & moving forward from difficult life experiences, & in developing motivation, self esteem, and confidence. I work with clients to create an open, inclusive and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment.
It can take courage to access counselling and I know that it can be really hard to make the steps towards this. I aim to support clients in exploring how they want to make changes, what that change will look like, and to support them in the process. I also know from the experiences of many people who have experienced counselling, how the process of counselling can really support them in making changes and being able to live how they want to live!
I am here to support with this…
I am an integrative counsellor, with a basis in Person-Centred counselling (where the client is the most important part of the work and the relationship between counsellor and client needs to be non-judgemental and completely empathetic), Transactional Analysis and Gestalt. I also draw on mindfulness techniques, systemic family practice, attachment theory, creative therapies and brief Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, using what is in the client’s best interest, completely in collaboration with them.

Tamsyn Spear is an integrative counsellor based in the United Kingdom with 11 years of professional experience. She has worked as a counsellor, a therapy supervisor and as a child and adolescent mental health worker within both the voluntary sector and the NHS. She also has earlier experience supporting adults, families, children and young people through work with the local council.
Her practice aims to offer a respectful, inclusive and safe space where people can begin to feel comfortable sharing what they want support with, and where they can be empowered to believe change is possible. She works in collaboration with each person, supporting them to work toward the changes they themselves identify as important.
Tamsyn has experience working with individuals across the lifespan, including children, young people and adults, and she also provides therapeutic support to parents and carers dealing with the challenges of parenting and caring.
She supports people with stress and anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, family conflict, processing and moving forward from difficult life experiences, and in developing motivation, self-esteem and confidence. Her aim is to create an open, non-judgemental environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of criticism.
Recognising that it can take courage to access counselling, she seeks to help clients explore how they want to make changes, what those changes might look like, and to support them through the process. She draws on the experiences of many who have engaged in counselling to inform a compassionate, practical approach to change.
Her therapeutic approach is integrative with a foundation in Person-Centred counselling, and additional training in Transactional Analysis and Gestalt. She also uses mindfulness techniques, systemic family practice, attachment theory, creative therapies and brief Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, selecting approaches collaboratively according to the client’s needs.
Many people ask whether online therapy can really help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One major benefit is the flexibility it offers. People can connect in the way that suits them best – by video call, phone, live chat or in-app messaging – which makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life.
All therapists involved are licensed professionals, and if someone feels they need a different fit they can switch therapists at any time. This approach lets people access qualified support in a format that works for them while maintaining continuity in their care.
